New users, licenses, services, SharePoint sites, Microsoft Teams channels, collaboration, and changing business requirements all add to the complexity of a Microsoft 365 environment. At the same time, IT teams and administrators are being asked to control Microsoft 365 costs, strengthen governance, prepare environments for AI, and demonstrate measurable improvement, often without additional resources. Most IT teams already have plenty of Microsoft 365 data. The challenge is determining what actually requires attention, why it matters, and what action to take next.
That's the focus of ENow 365 Governance Accelerator 1.5.0.
This release introduces smarter Microsoft 365 license optimization recommendations, clearer guidance across governance reports, greater visibility into data freshness, and easier ways to track governance progress over time.
What's new in ENow 365 Governance Accelerator 1.5.0? Version 1.5.0 finds redundant Microsoft 365 licenses more accurately and adds a savings summary to the Over Licensed Users report, with a plain-language reason behind each recommendation. Every report now shows when its data was last collected. Report pages add remediation guidance, and the scorecard shows each workload's month-over-month score change.
Visibility is the first step. Governance work begins when someone must act on a finding.
Consider Microsoft 365 licensing. Identifying two licenses assigned to the same user may indicate an opportunity to reduce spend. But before removing one, IT needs to know whether the remaining license actually provides all the services that the user requires.
The same problem exists across Microsoft 365 governance.
A report might identify risky sharing, unnecessary storage consumption, a licensing opportunity, or a configuration that doesn't align with governance best practices. But administrators still need answers to basic questions:
Without that context, governance can quickly become another pile of dashboards and manual investigations for already-stretched Microsoft 365 teams.
365 Governance Accelerator 1.5.0 is designed to help close that gap.
One of the biggest improvements in 1.5.0 extends across governance reporting.
Report pages now include two new pieces of guidance:
Why Is It Important? explains the significance of the finding and the potential governance impact.
Recommended Remediation provides guidance on what administrators can do next.
Where additional technical information is useful, the platform can also direct administrators to relevant resources, including Microsoft documentation.
365 Governance Accelerator now puts more of that context next to the finding, so administrators spend less time leaving the report to research the issue, judge its significance, and work out a response.
Different licenses can contain overlapping services, but they aren't necessarily interchangeable. A license that looks redundant may still provide something the user needs, and Microsoft keeps adding and changing licensing options.
In 1.5.0, the Over Licensed Users dashboard uses smarter, broader analysis to identify potentially redundant licenses across Microsoft 365 licensing combinations. Recommendations account for the services each user needs, and safeguards reduce the risk of inappropriate license changes. The result is more defensible opportunities to reduce Microsoft 365 licensing costs without creating unnecessary operational risk.
Recommendations in Candidates For License Optimization now explain in plain language why each user qualifies, using that user's actual information. Disqualified candidates get the same treatment, so whoever approves a change can also see why a seemingly possible change shouldn't be made.
You can tailor license optimization settings to your requirements and quickly refresh recommendations. Teams refining their optimization strategy see the impact of a change without waiting for the next scheduled data collection.
Finding opportunities across hundreds or thousands of users is one challenge. Knowing where to start is another. The updated Over Licensed Users analysis now opens with a savings summary:
Select a license to filter the report to the individual assignments behind that opportunity. That takes you from "How much could we save?" to "Where exactly should we start?"
Governance decisions also depend on context, and one of the most important pieces of context is time.
A finding from today and a finding from weeks ago shouldn't necessarily carry the same weight.
With version 1.5.0, every report now shows when its underlying data was last collected and highlights potentially out-of-date data. Administrators can also view the exact collection time in their local time zone.
For SharePoint and OneDrive storage reporting, the platform also clearly indicates when data collection is still in progress, giving administrators important context before interpreting results.
It's a small change that tells administrators how fresh the data is before they act on it.
Governance needs to keep going long after the first cleanup.
Your team has to keep assessing the Microsoft 365 environment as risks and inefficiencies evolve, and you need to know whether that work is producing measurable improvements and readiness signals for the next phase of technology implementation and adoption, such as a Copilot deployment.
Version 1.5.0 makes that progress easier to see.
Governance scores for individual workloads are now displayed more prominently on the scorecard, alongside the change in score from the previous month once enough historical data is available.
That gives IT teams an immediate way to answer an important question: “Are we getting better?”
The score becomes a measure of progress over time instead of a one-time snapshot.
Microsoft 365 governance tools should help IT teams make better decisions.
ENow 365 Governance Accelerator 1.5.0 helps your team:
Combined with existing visibility across Microsoft 365 licensing, storage, SharePoint exposure, identity, and governance, these improvements help teams spend less time interpreting data and more time acting on it.

The biggest changes are in license optimization. The Over Licensed Users report finds redundant licenses more accurately and opens with a savings summary, and each recommendation explains in plain language why a user qualifies. Outside licensing, every report now shows when its data was last collected, and report pages add "Why Is It Important?" and "Recommended Remediation" guidance. The scorecard also shows each workload's score change from the previous month.
The Over Licensed Users report looks for licenses with overlapping services across Microsoft 365 license combinations. Recommendations account for the services each user needs, and safeguards reduce the risk of removing a license the user still relies on.
In ENow 365 Governance Accelerator, the Over Licensed Users report opens with a savings summary showing potential annual savings and which licenses hold the most recoverable spend. From there, you can drill into the individual user assignments behind each number.
Licenses can overlap without being interchangeable, so a license that looks redundant may still provide a service the user needs. In 1.5.0, disqualified candidates in Candidates For License Optimization include a plain-language explanation, based on that user's actual information, of why the change shouldn't be made.
Yes. You can tailor license optimization settings to your requirements and quickly refresh recommendations to reflect the change, without waiting for the next scheduled data collection.
Every report in ENow 365 Governance Accelerator 1.5.0 shows when its underlying data was last collected, and dates that may be out of date are highlighted. You know how fresh a finding is before you act on it.
The 1.5.0 scorecard displays each workload's score more prominently, along with its change from the previous month, once enough history is available. Watching that number month to month shows whether your remediation work is moving the score in the right direction.
